My Soul's Invitation: From the Place of the Broken Open Cup

Orange Tree Kintsugi: From the Place of the Broken Open Cup

If you only see the world

You think we have made

But not the one

You are actually a part of

You will never survive

The despair

Don’t get me wrong--

This world will crack you open

The mistake is in thinking

To be whole

Means unbroken

We are meant to be filled

By the orange tree in December

Its fruit the fulfillment

Of summer’s promise

And a beacon to shine

Through the rain

And gray

We are all broken cups

Beautifully mishandled

By Life

And each other

~ ~ ~

Dear One,

I invite you in.

Into the place where grieving is inside living.

Where ecstasy is recognized as a gift of grace and divine presence.

Where your messy parts are unconditionally loved and celebrated.

Not transcendence, but presence.

Not bypassing, but intimacy.

Not perfection, but love.

What might crack, if we let another see us, hold us?

Are we afraid of our shadow, or our radiance?

What if our radiance is what’s hiding in the shadow?

When I was 13 years old I wrote my first poem.  It came in like a crack in the night as I was lying in bed, an expression of love and connection to a friend I had made in school, who was a refugee from Vietnam.

That has always been how the words come in, this deeply feeling body cracked open by the mystery of inspiration, of grace, of seeing and naming.  My soulmaking comes through this cracking, and through the making beauty inside and with the cracks.

This summer I began to teach the embodied wisdom that was coming through me, the knowing and truth that has no center but my own midline, no validation but my own surrender and groundedness.

It was enlivening and terrifying. It triggered the awakening of my own deepest family material, the place where I was wounded around owning my power, being a woman, a mother and a partner.

The full telling of that is for another time, but it called on me to claim my healing at its root, to shift a pattern for good, and to step into the depth and capacity left when the deep well of pain was cleaned out, open to the light and air.

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.

Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven?

And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?

When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

Kahlil Gibran

That spacious has been filled with the remembering of my deepest power as a sexual and sensual woman.

The power that is not about any particular relationship, or reflection, but how deeply Spirit is embedded in my cells, in my womb, my pussy and my flesh.

Where the Wounded Child once hid, the Divine Mother and Lover has returned and resides.

So what does that all mean for you?

This return has been as clarifying as it has been empowering, and so the wonderful soup of all the meaningful threads of my passions: birth, sex, healing touch, poetry, soul work, plant magic, and embodied spirituality, now have clear invitations for those who would like to work with me. Yeah!

This is so exciting, because the landscape was shifting for so long, even as my passions remained constant.

Over the next months I will be sharing more with you, both writing and offerings.  Today there are three possibilities I will offer.

  1. My Magic Potions

Many of you newer folks know me because of my elixirs, and those who know me on Facebook or Instagram have seen all my posts.

But flower and gem essences (not to be confused with essential oils) are a lesser known form of emotional healing support that I’d like to see more people feel empowered and excited to use.

So on February 21st @1 PM Pacific I’ll be teaching a free online class, Magic Potions for Grown-Ups, where you will learn how you can step out of overwhelm and into collaboration and support with the energy of plants, crystals and the Earth.

There is something the child us knew, about the essence of things and real possibility of magic, and that’s a knowing I want to see in the hands of all people as we face the tremendous challenges and heartbreak of our world.

  2. Biodynamic Craniosacral Work

This gentle yet potent form of bodywork combines a listening touch, deep presence and a surrender/opening to the intelligence of Life as it flows through you, me and all of life.

It is an opportunity to be held in unconditional love, to metabolize, heal and unwind old patterns so that we easily inhabit our greater embodied truth, and to integrate our adventures and life transitions: births and deaths, openings and initiations.

At a time when many people are embracing plant medicines as teachers and healers, I have a particular interest in supporting people as they bring that wisdom back into their everyday lives.

This works welcomes all genders to the table.

You can schedule a time to ask any questions here <3

  3. Sexy Wise Woman ~ Sacred Intimacy Healing & Coaching

As we navigate both the depths of trauma and the capacity to embody our deepest pleasure as women, where do we find the safe, courageous space to do this work?

As a sacred intimate, I hold the unconditional love and regard of the Divine Mother together with the embodied guidance and transmission of the sexually empowered woman.

The healing space we create follows your own unfolding and weaves your intentions and desires so that you can embrace and enjoy your sexual, sensual and creative energy within every aspect of your life.
    If this possibility intrigues you,
I invite you to schedule a conversation with me to learn more.  All women are welcome.

If you’ve read this far, thank you! What makes life beautiful and meaningful for me are the connections I make and maintain across time and space.

Whatever this message has sparked in you, I look forward to remaining in conversation and witnessing your unfolding.

In love and gratitude,

Ursula

PS. If you have seen me for massage in the past I am still seeing returning clients for that work, but only taking new clients for the above sessions. Returning clients can << schedule here >>
